The MCA Reward consulting service covers both:

Reward strategy - developed to:

  • meet the strategic requirements of the company;
  • satisfy the talent attraction and retention needs of the company; and
  • able to be presented to both shareholders and employees.

Reward components - designed to be:

  • consistent with the remuneration strategy;
  • competitive with market practice;
  • relatively easy to explain and to administer; and
  • sufficiently flexible to accommodate the changing needs of the company.

But is more than design

In our experience, good remuneration design is necessary, but on its own is not sufficient. We have seen many cases of seemingly well-designed remuneration plans being ineffective due to a combination of poor or incomplete implementation and inadequate ongoing management.

In order to ensure greater effectiveness of reward plans, MCA provides the following five types of service:

  • Design to meet both strategic and market competitive requriements;
  • Market practice, covering information on both 'best practice' and current market trends;
  • Implementation, ensuring the effective transition from the current to the new;
  • Management, covering ongoing administration, employee understanding and monitoring; and
  • Review of all or parts of the remuneration system against design, market and management criteria.
